We are a newlywed couple who launched alena to redefine homecare and provide unmatched service for our community! As we’ve grown to watch our own loved ones need round-the-clock care, we saw clear gaps: responsiveness, accountability, caregivers who genuinely love what they do, and smooth, reliable systems.

Thy brings her expertise as a Doctor of Physical Therapy, with years of healing patients, building deep connections, and truly understanding individual needs. Brent draws on his engineering background and passion for product design to modernize our services, streamline interfaces, and drive real efficiencies that benefit clients and caregivers alike.

Together, we’re building alena around transparency, the highest quality standards, and the best value for the families we serve. Our goal? To make compassionate, dependable care the new standard and brightening lives at home!

Common Questions

How much do your services cost?

You may notice many homecare businesses do not reveal their prices upfront. We believe in transparency. Our hourly rates start at $40/hr (minimum 4 hours) or $35/hr for 6+ hours of service. For Live-in Care, pricing starts at $490/day (includes scheduled sleep/breaks). For 24/7 awake coverage, pricing starts at $790/day. We stay competitive while ensuring our professionals and clients receive the best bang-for-buck. We will always work with you on pricing based on your needs.

How soon can home care services begin?

Once you have received your free consultation, Alena Homecare can start services as soon as you need us to.

Will Medicare pay for a professional caregiver?

While Medicare does pay for some home health services, it typically will not pay for in home care. If costs are a concerning factor for your family when it comes to initiating care, please discuss this with us so we can accommodate you with a cost effective, appropriate plan.

I only need help with some things. Does my caregiver have to do it all?

Alena Homecare provides individualized care to each of our clients. We can assist with as few or as many daily tasks as necessary to help you maintain your independence while keeping you as safe as possible.

Why should I use an agency to find an in home caregiver?

As an accredited home care agency, Alena Homecare carefully screens and background checks all of our employees. This provides our clients with a level of safety and security that they often cannot find when hiring a caregiver independently. Additionally, Alena Homecare handles paying taxes, maintaining workman’s comp insurance, providing ongoing training and making accommodations for emergency care coverage when necessary. All of this is to protect the seniors we serve and give their families necessary peace of mind.

What happens if my needs change after I have initiated services?

Homecare services can be modified at any time to reflect your needs. We can assist you with either increasing or decreasing services as needed. You also have the flexibility to cancel services at any time without penalty.

Can my in home caregiver dispense medications?

Caregivers with Alena Homecare are considered non-medical professionals and are not medically licensed or trained in that regard. For that reason, caregivers are only able to assist with medication reminders.

Will my caregiver be consistent?

We work diligently to match clients and their caregivers in order to foster strong relationships. Depending on your schedule, you can generally expect to have consistency with your primary caregiver. Should your needs change or your caregiver have a personal emergency, we are always available to provide a backup.
